Teachers
Ms. Shaunn, Shaunna Shaw, Center Director
Shaunn grew up on the shoreline of Connecticut. She fell in love with the mountains and moved to the area in 2016. Shaunn lives with her two dogs and a cat in Lancaster, NH, and she loves spending time in nature, reading, and creating art.
Shaunn has an AS in Environmental Science and Toxicology. Previously, she worked remotely for a construction company and was a volunteer Guardian ad Litem for over five years. Those years and interactions with young children caused a deep desire to become an educator. In 2022, she changed careers and began working in pre-K while working towards her Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. Shaunn has worked at the St. J School, Heartwood Public Charter School, and joined the staff at Sunnybrook in the summer of 2023.
Preschool is her passion, and she is both happy and honored to be the newest Center Director at the Sunnybrook Montessori School.
Ms. Michelle, Michelle Broughton, Lead Teacher
Michelle lives in Lancaster with her husband and daughter. She enjoys gardening, hiking, and camping with her family. She studied early childhood education at NHTI and is a NH ECE credentialed teacher who has been working at Sunnybrook Montessori School since 2020. She is passionate about offering opportunities for children to explore and learn through hands-on experiences, both in the classroom and outside in nature.

Samantha McGarry, Board President
Samantha McGarry was born and raised in NH. She currently resides in Lancaster with her husband, daughters, and their two dogs. She is a licensed mental health professional returning to the field after spending the last year and a half as a stay at home mom. Samantha enjoys any activities that involve spending time with her kids. She looks forward to getting to know the families entrusting the care and development of their young children to the school.
Jamison Hylander, Board Vice President
Ivy Pearson, Board Treasurer
Board member since December 2024, and is the current treasurer of the board. Ivy has lived in New England for over fifteen years, almost all of those years in northern NH. Ivy has served on several other nonprofit boards in the region for organizations that provide healthcare and housing. Ivy has worked in the affordable housing industry for over ten years.
Tanner Thompson, Board Secretary
Tanner Thompson loves seeing students’ curiosity come to life. He has an Associate’s degree in Education, a Special Needs Certificate, and teaches Industrial Arts at the Profile school in Bethlehem.
Whether he’s guiding students through a woodworking project or helping them design something from scratch, Tanner focuses on hands-on learning that builds creativity, confidence, and problem-solving skills.
His background in woodworking, sustainable construction, and precision manufacturing gives him plenty of real-world experience to share, and he enjoys watching students discover they can create more than they ever imagined.
Tanner is passionate about the Montessori philosophy and believes in giving every child the space to grow, explore, and follow their own path as a learner.
William Gay, Board Member
Bill has more than twenty years of direct experience with business growth and acquisition. In 2003, He started the New England franchise of ImageFIRST. Over an eighteen-year span, this franchise grew from a fledgling start up with three employees into a 35-million-dollar business employing more than two hundred people, with four operation centers that provide service to all six New England states.
Prior to this, after graduating from Central Connecticut State University with a history degree, Bill entered the business world with a career at Mechanic Uniform Service, a New England based textile services business. Over sixteen years, he worked his way up from customer advocate to regional general manager, responsible for all facets of the operation and reporting directlyto the CEO/owner. In 2001, he entered the world of publicly traded corporations with the acquisition of Mechanic Uniform Service by G&K Services. While at G&K, he was responsible for all day-to-day operations in the Northeast region, including acquisition assimilation.
Today, Bill is excited to help others achieve their goals and aspirations by providing guidance and operational expertise to create breakthrough businesses.
Bill has been married to his childhood friend Cynthia Gay for thirty-six years. He enjoys spending time with his five grandsons and one granddaughter and working on sustainable farming on his farm in Northern New Hampshire.
